What if electric car batteries powered the power grid?
It is to test this technical possibility that a so-called “vehicle-to-grid” experiment was launched in 2021 (literally from the car to the network).
A cooperation between Dreev (a joint venture between EDF and the Californian start-up Nuvve), Ademe, the Occitanie region and Nissan enables certain electric car batteries to sell the energy they contain through terminals that are also used to recharge them.
