The director of the British branch of the German energy giant AONUK, Michael Lewis, confirmed that the proportion of British families suffering from the consequences of a lack of fuel will double by next October.

Lewis said in statements reported by British media that "according to the model followed by the company, the number of these families has recently increased by 20 percent... and by next October, the number may reach 40 percent if the government does not intervene in one way or another."

Lewis noted that "more people in Britain are facing problems due to the lack of fuel and are spending more than 10 percent of their disposable income on energy."

European countries are witnessing a major crisis and a sharp rise in fuel and gas prices against the backdrop of sanctions that were imposed on Russia after its special military operation to protect Donbass.
