The Russian currency rose today against the American and European currencies, as the ruble reached its highest level against the euro for the first time since June 2015.
According to the data of the Moscow Stock Exchange, the dollar exchange rate fell by 71 kopecks to 56.09 rubles, while the euro exchange rate fell by 42 kopecks to 58.13 rubles.
The Russian Central Bank continues its measures to support the economy and the Russian currency, as it will hold a meeting of its board of directors tomorrow on the main interest rate, amid expectations that the interest rate will be reduced from the current level of 14 percent to the level of 12.5 percent.
