Thousands of travelers who had booked a plane ticket via the company easyJet in London and Paris mainly, saw their flight canceled this Thursday, before the weekend of the Ascension, according to The Independent.
The low-cost airline was forced to cancel nearly 200 flights after computer problems.
“Unfortunately, we are currently experiencing IT systems issues, impacting flights,” an easyJet spokesperson said earlier in the afternoon.
“We apologize to our customers whose flights have been affected,” the company wrote on Twitter, inviting travelers to check their flight information via the Flight Tracker application or that of the group.
"Our IT team is working to restore systems as soon as possible," easyJet added.
The planes concerned were supposed to take off this Wednesday from the United Kingdom but also from other airports in Europe, in particular Paris, between noon and 2 p.m.
Two flights were also canceled at Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport, reports Le Progrès.
According to The Independent, the problem would still not be resolved since part of the flights scheduled for Thursday evening would also have been canceled.
Several Internet users expressed their dissatisfaction on Twitter.

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank customers for their patience as we work to resolve this issue as soon as possible,” the company said.
According to The Independent, travelers whose flight is canceled should be given a seat on another plane as soon as possible as well as a hotel room if necessary and possibly financial compensation.
