Questioned by the British site, the group of students at the initiative of the manifesto swear to have been the victim of sexual harassment on the part of men whose ages range from 13 to 60 years old.
“It has become something experienced on a weekly basis by me and by many girls, not only from our school, confides one of them, named Hannah.
I was even threatened with rape when I met men on the way home.
The 17-year-old student adds that the use of these outfits in sexual scenarios, in a way, justifies the behavior of adults in real life.

“They deserve to feel safe.
While there, they only express feelings of embarrassment, shame and helplessness,” she said.

Following the launch of the petition, the testimonies multiplied, coming from all over the country.
Some even date back several decades, further confirming the extent of the phenomenon.
While the petition is aiming for 10,000 signatures for next November, it should reach its goal much faster than expected.
