Mark Zuckerberg's right hand is retiring: top manager Sheryl Sandberg is leaving the Facebook group.
She will leave the company in the fall but will remain on Meta's board of directors, Sandberg wrote on Facebook.
She doesn't know what the future holds for her.
However, she plans to focus more on her charity activities in the future, according to the 52-year-old.
The years "at the side of Mark" Zuckerberg, the boss and founder of the company, were a great honor.
As a result of the news of the departure, Meta shares fell by around four percent.
Sandberg gained his first experience at Google and joined Facebook in 2008.
As the person responsible for the operational business, she played a leading role in turning the online network from a relatively small player in the online business into a billion-dollar corporation.
In recent years there has been speculation about a cooled relationship between the 38-year-old Zuckerberg and Sandberg - which has always been rejected.
Sandberg is to remain on the board of directors of Meta, the group's supervisory body.
