The production of table eggs by the General Poultry Corporation since the beginning of this year until the end of last May reached about 50 million eggs, 1.2 million hatching eggs and 466,000 white chicks.
The Director General of the General Poultry Corporation, Dr. Sami Abu Al-Dan, said in a statement to SANA that the corporation's production plan for broiler meat amounts to about 100 tons and is expected to double.
Abu Dan indicated that the institution obtained a billion Syrian pounds in advance to raise its production capacity, as it worked to invest it by distributing 115 thousand chicken chicks in the facilities of Sednaya, Homs and Latakia, including 24,000 chicks in the Latakia facility, 30,000 in the Homs facility, and 61,000 in Saydnaya in two phases.
