The Prime Minister, Engineer Hussein Arnous, approved the recommendation of the Economic Committee to support the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform to set the purchase price for one kilogram of the cotton crop beloved by farmers for the 2022 season, at an amount of 4000 Syrian pounds, which went to the gins and the receiving centers of the General Organization for Ginning and Marketing of Cotton.
Director of Agricultural Economy in the Ministry, Dr. Ahmed Diab Bin, told SANA reporter that the mentioned price was determined based on several factors, the most important of which are production costs at popular prices and the parallel import price for ginned cotton, taking into account the needs of industrial establishments that need raw materials and work in the field of textile industries, noting that The approved price is encouraging for farmers, and it was approved in coordination and joint cooperation between all concerned parties.
