Statutory health insurance: Additional contributions are increasing significantly

Millions of people with health insurance will have to adjust to rising social security contributions in 2023: According to Health Minister Lauterbach, the additional contributions from statutory health insurance companies will be increased by 0.3 percentage points.

For the more than 57 million members of statutory health insurance (GKV), the additional contribution will increase significantly in 2023.

Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) announced on Tuesday an increase in the additional contribution by 0.3 percentage points.

The average additional contribution is currently 1.3 percent.
