It was announced yesterday that the international ice cream company "Ben & Jerry's" is suing its parent company, the food giant "Unilever" after the latter approved Ben & Jerry's Israel to continue selling the company's branded ice creams throughout the Land of Israel, even in areas beyond the Green Line.
The lawsuit was filed because, according to the international ice cream brand, the agreement signed with the Israeli franchisee is not "in line" with the company's values.
The lawsuit states that the agreement "threatens to undermine the independence of the Ben & Jerrys brand", which the company's board sought to defend when Unilever acquired it in 2000. .
Today comes the response of Avi Singer, owner and CEO of Ben & Jerry's Israel: The agreement we signed with Unilever is closed, approved and final. The arrangement guarantees the sale of Ben & Jerry's ice cream made in Israel,
I would like to express my appreciation to Unilever, for the agreement signed last week, and for their firm stance against the BDS, "says Singer.

He must not write the name in English on the packaging.
According to the company in Israel, this arrangement ensures the continued operation of the Ben & Jerrys Israel plant in Beer Tuvia, and the employment security of the hundreds of workers in the plant, as well as the livelihoods of thousands of Israelis and Palestinians in charge of supplies and services.
"Unilever rejects any form of discrimination and intolerance," the company said in a statement.
"Anti-Semitism has no place in any society. We have never expressed support for the BDS movement and we have no intention of changing that position," she stressed.
