Employment: the “great resignation” is not over


DECRYPTION - After the Covid crisis and in the face of inflation, working people are in search of meaning and better remuneration.

The wind of resignations from across the Atlantic will continue to blow in France in 2022. This year, one in six French employees plans to leave their job and change employers in the next twelve months, according to conclusions of an international study by the consulting firm PwC.

This dynamic, if it turns out to be much weaker in France than in the United States – where tens of millions of workers have left the labor market since the pandemic – is not to be taken lightly.

It is part of the intensification of the quest for meaning in the employment of working people over the past two years;

but also in the search for better remuneration, while inflation continues to rise and reduce purchasing power.

In fact, 71% of respondents indicate that a salary increase is the main motivator for changing jobs.
