Four months after its entry into force, the youth employment contract (CEJ) has already found its audience.
And it was not won in advance, insofar as the device is reserved for 16-25 year olds who are not students, do not follow a training course and who encounter difficulties in accessing long-term employment - the famous Neet, which is estimated at nearly 1 million each year in France.
Between March 1 and the end of July, the two main operators in charge of its implementation thus initialed nearly 150,000 contracts with young people.
Or 83,000 for the network of local missions and 64,100 on the side of Pôle emploi.
The government estimated when it was launched that this “open law” system could concern between 300,000 and 400,000 young people in 2022, then 500,000 in a full year.
These initial results therefore confirm the government in its objectives.
Especially since the start of the school year was to bring its share of newcomers.
