The high inflation in Germany weakened in July for the second month in a row.
Goods and services cost an average of just 7.5 percent more than a year earlier, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office.
Economists had expected an inflation rate of 7.4 percent in July.
According to the Munich Ifo Institute, inflation is likely to have peaked and will gradually decline over the course of the second half of the year.
