Chinese official data showed today that the trade value between China and countries along the Belt and Road in the first half of this year increased by 17.8 percent year on year.
The Chinese Xinhua News Agency quoted data from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce as saying: "The value of merchandise trade between China and countries along the Belt and Road reached 6.3 trillion yuan in the first half of this year, accounting for 31.9 percent of China's total foreign trade.
The ministry indicated that in the same period, China pumped 65.03 billion yuan of non-financial direct investment into countries along the Belt and Road, an increase of 4.9 percent year on year, with this investment accounting for 18.5 percent of China's total non-financial direct investment to other countries.
