Japanese car giant Toyota on Thursday slightly raised its net profit and sales forecast for the 2022/23 financial year, despite a sharp decline in first quarter results, weighed down in particular by disruptions to supply chains.

The group now expects an annual net profit of 2,360 billion yen (17.4 billion euros), against a previous forecast of 2,260 billion yen, which would however be a decline of 17.2% on one year, and to sales of 34,500 billion yen against 33,000 billion yen previously.
