The increase in prices, which almost everyone feels, raises the question of where to find the
cheapest basket of products in the food chains.
According to an examination conducted by the Ministry of Economy and Industry and the Central Bureau of Statistics and based on the data of the Consumer Council - from the Pricez website, it appears that the average of the basic product basket in July 2022 was NIS 948, a decrease of NIS 15, which is about 1.5% compared to the month of June.
The tested basket includes 68 products from the following categories: milk and its products, bread, meat and fish products, dry food, fruits and vegetables, and toiletry and cleaning products.
The product basket includes the basic products that are the best sellers and make up a significant share of household expenses.

Where can we find the cheapest basket?
So where is the cheapest to buy?
From the list of chains tested, the chain that sold the basic basket of products at the cheapest price in July was the "Rami Levy Market Sycamore" chain with a basket cost of NIS 842.
On the other hand, from the list of tested chains, the chain that sold the basic product basket at the most expensive price in July is "Super Yoda" - the cost of the tested basket this month was NIS 1,137.
In other words, the price difference between the most expensive chain and the cheapest chain in July is 35%, which is NIS 295.
The price difference between the most expensive chain and the cheapest in the "discount" chains
(mostly large supermarkets located outside the city centers) is 7%, which is NIS 59.
From the list of

tested, the price difference between the expensive chain and the cheap one is about 11%, which is NIS 99.
Compared to the previous month, there was a decrease in the price of the basic basket of products when about 65% of the chains presented a decrease in the price of the basket (for the same chains that were included in the basket in both July and June).
