Russia rose to the second rank in the world after the United States in extracting oil during the month of June, while Saudi Arabia ranked third.
The Russian TASS news agency quoted the Russian Federal State Statistics Service as saying in a statement today that "Russia raised oil extraction last June to 10.667 million barrels per day, while Saudi Arabia extracted 10.646 million barrels per day and the United States 12.04 million barrels per day."
And US Energy Information Administration data showed earlier today that US commercial oil stocks, excluding the strategic reserve, fell by 3.3 million barrels, or 0.8 percent, to 421.7 million barrels by the end of last week.
