Damascus-SANA
The General Authority for Taxes and Fees issued two decisions, obligating the taxpayers of wholesalers, importers and exporters to use the electronic linking mechanism for the issued invoices to determine their work number so that the QR code is adopted on each issued invoice and the link with the central database of the tax administration.
According to the two decisions that SANA obtained a copy of, wholesalers, importers and exporters must use one of the accounting programs approved by the tax administration to keep records and issue invoices electronically.
The commission also gave the aforementioned taxpayers until the 30th of September to implement the procedures specified in the two decisions, including the testing and audit phase.
Last February, the Ministry of Finance announced the completion of an electronic mechanism for bills issued by taxpayers that guarantees the rights of customers, sellers and service providers by documenting sales and purchases, avoiding non-registration of accounts, and ensuring that each party in the commercial process receives its dues, including the state’s public treasury.
