In view of rising energy costs and an impending new corona wave, the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) is calling for tax aid for employees in the home office to be increased.
The home office flat rate must be continued and increased to 1500 euros, says DGB board member Anja Piel of the "Augsburger Allgemeine".

So far, employees can claim a maximum of 600 euros a year at five euros a day in their tax return.
At the same time, she warned companies against passing on heating costs to employees working from home without compensation.
The Federal Ministry of Labor recently commented on a fundamental return to the home office offer obligation.
Employers should again be obliged to offer employees to work from home to protect themselves from corona infections.
The regulation is to come into force on October 1st and apply until April 7th, 2023.
