The branch of the General Organization for Seed Multiplication in Hama received 1,700 tons of sifted and sterilized wheat seed to the branches of the Agricultural Cooperative Bank in the governorate, to be distributed to farmers with the start of financing operations for the next season with agricultural production requirements.

And the director of the Foundation’s branch, Engineer Louay Al-Husari, told SANA reporter that the quantities of sifted and sterilized wheat seeds in the Foundation’s branch amounted to 6,200 tons to date, pointing to the branch’s continuation of sifting and sterilization operations so that they are carried out by the main sifter in Kafrhum, with a production capacity of 150 tons per day.

Al-Husari pointed out that there is a great demand from farmers to buy locally produced potato seeds within the national project for its multiplication, indicating that the quantities sold so far exceeded 357 tons of potato seeds from the elite stage, due to the need for the autumn harvest.

He pointed out that the potato seeds produced from the Apamea, Sidra, Aya, Palmyra and Euphrates varieties are characterized by international specifications, lower costs, suitable prices, and a rewarding productive return, pointing out that farmers have the right to obtain seeds according to the agricultural license, and they are sold according to the personal card, in a quantity of 3 tons, at a price of 1900 liras per kilogram.
