The local authorities in east China's Jiangsu Province announced today that the production of new energy vehicles set a record during the first seven months of 2022, exceeding the total production of new energy vehicles in the province last year.
"Vehicle production in Jiangsu increased by 26.1 percent year on year to 797,000 vehicles during the January-July period, including 289,000 new energy vehicles, up 1.8 year on year," the provincial directorate of industry and information technology said, according to Xinhua.
In the first half of this year, 163 major enterprises in the province in the power and energy storage battery sectors recorded a total production value of 120 billion yuan, equivalent to about 17.4 billion US dollars, an increase of 84.6 percent year on year, accounting for 38.8 percent of the total production value in the province.
