A new recycled aluminum plant will open in France

It will open in 2024 in Vendée. The project is notably supported by the Liébot group, a window manufacturer.


Aluminum has become an expensive and valuable raw material.

This is why more and more manufacturers are interested in its recycling.

The producers of aluminum plates and coils have already started there.

Now, manufacturers of finished products are also getting involved.

In the fall of 2024, the first foundry capable of recycling aluminum to make billets will open, whereas today France is home to only two foundries producing aluminum-based billets, in Eure-et-Loir and in the Var.

The new factory will be located in Sainte-Hermine, in the south of Vendée, and will have a production capacity of 20,000 tonnes per year.

At the helm, we find the Liébot group (4,000 employees, 700 million euros in turnover), Vendée manufacturer of windows and facades, whose best-known subsidiary is K-Line.

"Our desire is to produce low-carbon aluminum in France, which will, in most cases, be recycled from waste from our productions...
