The Syrian Company for Electronic Payments: Payment of more than 11 million claims, with a financial value exceeding 273 billion, through a payment system

In order to save time, effort and money for citizens through the payment of financial claims by traditional methods, the Syrian Company for Electronic Payments, represented by the “Pafad” system for electronic payment and the national e-commerce platform “Seeb Online” seeks to expand the segment of citizens to benefit from its services.

The company’s executive general manager, Dr. Ayman Mallouk, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that the number of financial claims that have been paid through a payment system since its launch in April 2020 to date has reached 11,565.681 claims, with a total value of more than 273.3 billion Syrian pounds, for the services of some public authorities, such as the directorates of transport, electricity and water. Fixed telephone, internet, traffic violations, verification, collection, citizen service center, real estate tax, lump-sum income, installments, and student fees in the virtual university, through the banking channels available to eleven operating banks in addition to the two cellular companies “Syriatel” and “MTN”.

Mallouk pointed out that work is currently underway to connect more public billing agencies on the one hand and operating banks on the other hand, and that the value of commissions incurred by the citizen for paying bills for basic services such as water, electricity and fixed telephones is zero. As for the commissions resulting from paying bills and fees for other services, they are applied according to the system Slides starting from 200 SP.

With regard to the national e-commerce platform “Seeb Online”, which was launched by the company on the 30th of last June, Dr. Mallouk stated that the platform aims to enable the citizen to pay the amounts incurred by him when completing government transactions electronically or during e-shopping by creating an online Sip account with one of the operating banks Or the cellular companies associated with the company’s system, in cooperation with all service providers from public authorities “such as the General Organization for International Exhibitions and Markets” the lottery and the Citizen Service Center” and cooperation with the operating banks “Syrian Commercial Bank and Bemo Saudi Fransi Bank” in addition to cooperation with the two cellular companies “Syriatel and M.” TN".

Mallouk pointed out that the number of financial claims paid through the platform to date amounted to 25,528 claims with a total value exceeding 1.5 billion Syrian pounds, explaining that the payment mechanism through the platform is done by entering the website or application of the service provider and then choosing the service to implement the payment process and entering the user name or phone number The customer's cell phone, then entering the verification code sent to the customer's phone, and finally confirming the payment and receiving the notification.
