Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh discussed with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Talal Abu-Ghazaleh” International, Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh and the accompanying delegation today, the reality of the industrial sector and the importance of investing in scientific research and technological development in its advancement.

Minister Sabbagh stressed the necessity of joint work and cooperation to advance the industrial reality after the unjust terrorist war that was waged on Syria and led to the destruction of many industrial facilities, due to the knowledgeable expertise possessed by the Abu Ghazaleh Group that can be used in this field.

For his part, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh pointed to the importance of working on developing the industrial sector in Syria in light of technological development and the transition to smart knowledge-based industrial production, economy and smart government, stressing that this transformation achieves several goals, the most important of which is protecting the environment and providing the best product in addition to export competitiveness.

During the meeting, it was agreed to hold technical meetings to exchange experiences and discuss the possibility of holding scientific research forums and seminars in the same context.

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Minister of Industry, Eng. Asaad Warda, Ayman Al-Khoury, and the Director of Planning and International Relations in the Ministry, Dr. Muti` Al-Reem.
