Russian Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko announced that the total production of this year's grain crop may reach a record level of 142 million tons.
"This year we have a record grain harvest and we expect 142 million tons, and for wheat we also expect a very high harvest," Abramchenko was quoted by the RIA Novosti news agency as saying in a statement today.
And Russian President Vladimir Putin announced, during his talk about the prospects of the harvest earlier, that the harvest this year will be more than 140 million tons of grain.
In 2017, Russia set a record, with 135 million tons of grain produced, including 86 million tons of wheat.
