The rating agency Fitch lowered the outlook for the United Kingdom's rating from "stable" to "negative" on Wednesday (October 5th), a few days after a similar decision by the agency S&P, linked to the significant tax cuts announced by the British government on September 23.

"could result in a significant increase in budget deficits in the medium term
," said Fitch in its press release.
