Google Cloud today launches Google's new cloud region in Israel.

Google's Israeli cloud will make innovation from the startup sector accessible to other industries, accelerate the digital transformation and create new jobs.

According to Google's announcement, a local Israeli cloud will enable innovative state services for the citizen, which will improve the citizens' service experience.

Google recently conducted a study through AlphaBeta Economics (part of the Access Partnership) from which it is estimated that by 2030, the Google Cloud Region in Tel Aviv will cumulatively contribute $7.6 billion to Israel's GDP and support the creation of 21,200 jobs this year alone.

Google's cloud zone in Israel (me-west1), joins Google's cloud zones around the world, and provides services with high performance and low latency, to organizations of all sizes and all industries.

Last year, Google Cloud was chosen to provide the Israeli government with public cloud services to help with the country's digital transformation, thus charting a clear path to the cloud for government ministries, government bodies and private companies operating in regulated industries.

Google Cloud services will allow the government to simplify the service to citizens, create a uniform approach to security, keep the information within the country's borders and meet regulatory requirements, as well as improve information security.

For several years, Google has increased the local presence of Google employees (Googlers) in both Tel Aviv and Haifa to support the growing number of the company's customers, as well as to bring a culture of innovation to every sector of the economy.

From technology, retail, media and entertainment to financial services and the public sector, today, according to the company, "leading organizations see Google Cloud as their trusted innovation partner."
