finalize

coming days
" its mechanism to protect companies that are not affected by the tariff shield from soaring energy prices, Emmanuel Macron said on Friday.
The devices to lower prices "
will be supplemented in the coming days by the government, which will announce for the coming months our protection mechanisms for, in particular, companies that are not included in the price shield
", said the Head of State to the press following a European summit in Brussels.
The “
tariff shield
” introduced by the State, which limits price increases to 15% in 2023, aims to contain household bills in the face of the surge linked in particular to the war in Ukraine.
Very small businesses and small local communities also benefit.
Many companies not covered
According to a study by the National Institute of Statistics (Insee) published in early September, it has halved the effect of rising energy prices on inflation.
But "
a whole category of companies, SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises), medium-sized companies (ETI) or certain groups
" are excluded from the shield.
"
In the coming days, we will finalize the national protection mechanism which will make it possible to secure and give full visibility to these actors
," promised President Macron.

Thursday, the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire indicated that he did not rule out the idea of a “
cap
” on the price of energy, that is to say an extension of the shield.
