Food: how Nutri-Score boosts sales of “healthy” products

Almost five years after its arrival in France, the small 5-color logo has invaded the shelves and guides consumers in their purchases.


So young and already so influential… Adopted by the French government at the end of 2017, more and more present on the shelves of supermarkets since 2018, the Nutri-Score, a 100% tricolor tool, has entered the mores at high speed. This labeling system on packaging, which ranges from the letter A (green) to E (dark orange), depending on the nutritional quality of the product sold, aims to fight against cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity. but also, more generally, to help the French to buy healthier products.
