Washington - SANA
The number of Americans filing new applications for unemployment benefits rose more than expected last week.
And the US Department of Labor said today: “Applications for unemployment benefits submitted for the first time increased by 17,000 to a seasonally adjusted level of 240,000 applications during the week ending on the nineteenth of November.”
The previous week's data was revised to show an increase of 1,000 requests over the previously announced number.
Economists had expected, in a Reuters poll, that the number of jobless claims would reach 225,000.
