Russia's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, commented on the European Union's attempts to impose a ceiling on the price of Russian oil, stressing that the West is the main enemy of the market economy.
Ulyanov said on his Twitter account: “The West is the main enemy of the market economy. It wants to put a ceiling on Russian oil and gas prices and expands totalitarianism into the economic field. These are failed efforts,” recalling Moscow’s position, which announced that it would not export oil and gas under these circumstances.
The US Bloomberg Agency had earlier quoted its sources as saying that the European Union, in coordination with the Group of Seven, is studying the possibility of setting a ceiling for the price of Russian oil between 65 and 70 dollars per barrel.
