The event to announce the winners of the eBay Exporter of the Year competition, in which leading exporters win monetary prizes, was held in Israel for the second year in a row.
We got to see the happy winners up close, get to know the sellers and understand how much the popular platform helps them.
"This is a celebration for sellers," said Mickey Sokolowski, director of marketing and communications for emerging markets at eBay.
"I'm very excited to be here and see all the sellers from Israel at the Exporter of the Year event," said Ginny Hoy, CEO of Emerging Markets at eBay. "It's amazing to see their use of the eBay platform to sell all over the world."
"We came here to talk about how we can use our data to understand the customer's wishes," said Yonatan Ivegi, VP of Trade at DHL Israel. The Israeli field is also considered a leader within DHL, we are growing faster than other countries. Every year the amount of shipments is growing. The State of Israel very much likes to sell and very much likes to buy. The private citizens very much like to import personal imports. This year there is a slight slowdown in the online trade that comes out of Israel and in the business sector, there is growth in business shipments."
"Israel is one of the biggest markets we have in the region," added Daniel Byrne, head of business development in emerging markets at eBay.
"That's why we focus on working with Israeli sellers."
"eBay for me is a very reliable platform," admitted Yakir Sulzman, owner of the GDT store on eBay, which won the award for the best service.
"She mediates between me and the buyers around the world. The communication is very convenient."
"eBay is a place where every item has someone who will buy it," said Yitzhak Abgi, owner of the Muse art and antiques store on eBay, which won the Rising Star award.
