The Agricultural Cooperative Bank informed its branches in all governorates of the need to start distributing fertilizers to farmers for the winter agricultural season of the 2022-2023 wheat crop, given the start of this season and the need for farmers to expedite the cultivation of their lands according to weather conditions and the rainy season, and to simplify procedures.
According to the circular, the Director General of the Agricultural Bank assigned Dr. Ahmed Al-Zuhri to the branches to finance the purchase of production requirements such as seeds or fertilizers, according to the instructions of the Directorate of Commercial Operations, as a loan or in cash for the wheat crop mentioned in the agricultural regulation, either in one payment or in several installments, according to the request of the farmer and the availability of the material. Al-Zuhri called on the agricultural branches to be satisfied with the agricultural regulation issued by the departments of the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform as a document for investment and financing and not to request possession documents.
And based on the decision of the bank’s board of directors and the recommendation of the Economic Committee, the bank issued another circular according to which the selling price of superphosphate fertilizers to farmers was set at 2 million and 50 thousand Syrian pounds per ton, urea fertilizer at 3 million pounds per ton, and ammonium nitrate at one million and 650 thousand pounds per ton.
In the same circular, the bank asked the branches to resume the process of selling fertilizers to farmers, starting from today's date, according to the circular that includes instructions for selling fertilizers.
