The Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Eng. Mohammed Hassan Qatana, discussed with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Syria, Waheed Mubarak Sayyar, the development of agricultural cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting in the Ministry's building, Minister Qatna stressed the need to strengthen relations between Syria and Bahrain in the areas of commercial exchange of agricultural products, benefit from the experiences of the two countries in the field of agricultural research and modern technologies, and train Syrian cadres on palm propagation by weaving and raising marine fish in floating cages, and aquaculture to produce Vegetables in the glass halls.

Our cat pointed to the importance of developing the executive program of the signed agreements, especially in the field of forests, reserves, forest and fruitful afforestation, and gardens within cities, in a way that serves the interests of the two countries, and the transfer of Syrian expertise in these areas.

The minister pointed out Syria's willingness to export some agricultural products such as pomegranates, pistachios, olives, olive oil, apples and citrus fruits of all kinds, as well as Awassi sheep, of which 200,000 heads were opened for export, explaining that their export enters into a period of prevention from mid-December to mid-March, which is a period deliveries, and it is possible to resume opening the door for export after that.

For his part, Ambassador Sayyar stressed the importance of developing cooperation between the two countries in all fields, calling on Syrian producers to participate in the Bahrain International Garden Show, which will be held soon.
