Energy: the French who heat themselves with wood will benefit from a boost


An energy check of €50 to €200 will be available for people heating with wood, subject to conditions, from December 22.

The government has just announced the implementation of a new boost to help them face the winter.

The price of wood pellets, used by 1.7 million French people, has literally exploded in recent months.

It doubled over a year.

That's not all.

The price of logs has also skyrocketed (+30%) over the past twelve months.

From December 22, they will be able to get a check for €50 to €200 to pay these bills.

This aid, totaling 230 million euros, was definitively adopted by Parliament, via a vote in the Senate on 25 November.

It fills a void.

Until now, only French people heated by gas, oil or electricity benefited from an energy check to compensate for soaring prices.

2.6 million people eligible

However, this boost will not be accessible to everyone.
