A press release tells me that the Old Camper is doing great business: sales of stoves and other camping-type cooking tables have multiplied by ten since December 1, the same for lanterns while those of headlamps have increased by 50 %.
The fear of power cuts causes multiple behavioral adjustments.
This translates into energy consumption.
According to RTE, electricity consumption - corrected for the effect of temperatures - has fallen by 6.6% over the past four weeks compared to before Covid.
The drop is 8.3% over the last week alone.
It is primarily the fact of the industry, which is partly bad news since it means not only efficiency efforts but also production cuts.
But not only.
According to RTE, households and the tertiary sector have now also engaged: around -7% over the week.
