In the midst of the Christmas business, the Verdi union called on workers at several Amazon locations nationwide to walk out.
This applies to the employees in the shipping centers in Bad Hersfeld, Dortmund, Graben near Augsburg, Koblenz, Leipzig, Rheinberg and Werne, the union announced on Sunday.
This is intended to protest against "the antisocial practices of the online giant".
The union did not provide any information on the exact times.
"In the coming days, the employees of the various distribution centers will sometimes take turns taking action and without public notice," said strike leader Monika Di Silvestre.
Overall, the employees at Amazon "still earn several thousand euros less a year than their colleagues in companies bound by collective agreements," criticized the trade unionist.
One reason for this is the low Christmas and missing holiday pay.
"We therefore continue to demand that Amazon recognize the collective bargaining agreements for retail and mail order and conclude a collective bargaining agreement on good and healthy work with us."
Amazon does not expect the Verdi actions to affect customers.
The company referred to a salary increase since September 2022 for all Amazon employees in logistics in Germany.
»The converted entry-level wage is 13 euros gross per hour and upwards, including bonus payments.
After two years of service, the average gross salary is over 35,000 euros per year," said a company spokesman.
Numerous extras and perks would be added.
