The foreign trade deficit of Slovakia rose during last November to 824 million euros, representing the highest deficit during a month in the past ten years.
The Slovak Statistical Office indicated that despite the record value of exports recorded during this month, especially of machinery and cars, the significant negative impact on trade exchange was represented by the rise in the prices of imported gas and auto parts.
According to the office's data, the value of exports in November amounted to 9.6 billion euros, which means an increase of 11.2 percent compared to the same month last year, while the value of imports increased by 20.5 percent, after reaching 10.4 billion euros.
The office pointed out that the value of exports during the 11 months of last year amounted to 94.8 billion euros, an increase of 17.1 percent, while the value of imports was 98 billion euros, an increase of 24.3 percent, which means that the trade exchange ended with a deficit of 3.2 billion euros.
