If the unemployment rate for executives is low, some 485,000 jobseekers were however looking for an executive job in June 2022, according to statistics released on Monday by the Association for the employment of executives (Apec) and Pôle emploi.

Among them, 292,000 are registered in category A (unemployed) and 193,000 in B and C (reduced activity).

According to the ILO, the unemployment rate for managers is around 4% compared to 7.3% in the third quarter of 2022 for the general population.

Of these 485,000 job seekers, 95,000 have been unemployed for over a year.

They are mainly looking for sales positions, administrative-accounting-financial executives or IT specialists.

Compared to employed executives, executive job seekers are younger (32% under 35 versus 27%).

After their studies, many young graduates register with Pôle Emploi, even if they do not stay there for long.

The proportion of people aged 5 and over is also higher (21% against 18%).

These seniors represent 102,000 executive job seekers, 36% of whom are long-term job seekers.

There are more women (45% versus 37%) among executive job seekers who are also slightly less qualified (20% do not have a Bac+2 level versus 14%).

Finally, they are slightly over-represented in Île-de-France (40% against 35%) and live more in a district of the city policy (6% against 2%).

Nearly two-thirds of managerial job seekers change jobs when they leave the Pôle Emploi, including one in two in a different professional field.
