Three Sanofi employees - including two elected members of the CGT - are being dismissed, the union said on Tuesday, which believes that this decision is linked to the social movement which has agitated the laboratory for several weeks.

Two CGT elected officials were informed of their dismissal on the Sanofi site in Le Trait (Seine-Maritime), according to the CGT.

They were accused of having participated in the blocking of this medicine and vaccine production site during the November strike, confirmed Sanofi, contacted by AFP.

A third employee, presented by the CGT as a union activist on the Sanofi site in Montpellier, has already been dismissed, for reasons unrelated to the social movement, specifies the laboratory, which evokes “

individual situations relating to different issues

".

Sanofi experienced a strike movement at the end of 2022 affecting more than 14 sites in France, according to the CGT, with blockages on some of these sites.

The unions demanded wage increases, but also the hiring of precarious contracts.

In France, in 2023, at Sanofi, a society that wants to be modern and open, it is therefore methods from another age that are used to punish those who dare to ask for more social justice

", denounces the CGT in a press release.

The laboratory replies that the procedures in progress “

are in strict compliance with the law.

These are in no way violations of the right to strike, but proceedings initiated with regard to observed and proven abuses in the context of an abnormal exercise of this right by their perpetrators.

For 2023, Sanofi, which will soon publish its annual results, has committed to a 4.5% increase in the base salary of its employees, to which is added a bonus of 2000 euros.
