Towards a day of hassle in the Ile-de-France airports?

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) spoke on Monday of a “minimal” strike at Orly, for this Thursday, January 19.

But the first forecasts sent show one in five flights canceled at the airport, due to a strike by air traffic controllers as part of the day of mobilization against pension reform.

"Airlines must reduce by 20% their program of flights initially planned at Paris-Orly airport from 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on January 19", according to a "notice for air missions" (NOTAM) published Tuesday afternoon by the DGAC.

In a press release, co-signed by the Ministry of Transport, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation explains that it "will apply the provisions of the minimum service in the en-route air navigation centers (CRNA) 1 and in the air navigation services airports where the regulatory provisions allow it”.

The DGAC also warns of “disturbances and delays”, to be expected, “despite these preventive measures”.

Forecasts for Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle, another Ile-de-France airport, have not yet been released.
