New change at Scor.
To everyone's surprise, the leading French reinsurer (insurer of insurers) announced on the evening of Thursday January 26 the departure of its managing director, Laurent Rousseau
.
The latter had succeeded Denis Kessler only eighteen months ago
.
He will be replaced by Thierry Léger, current head of underwriting at reinsurer Swiss Re, who will take up his duties in early May.
The interim between the two leaders will be provided by François de Varenne, one of the members of the executive committee.
The news was poorly received by the stock market, with Scor shares falling 7.56% (to €22) on Friday.
The arrival of Laurent Rousseau in June 2021 had already surprised investors: he had been appointed after the unexpected departure of Benoît Ribadeau-Dumas, former chief of staff of Édouard Philippe, who had been hired at the time with the idea of succeeding Denis Kessler.
