To date, the area cultivated with wheat and barley crops, through irrigation and irrigation, has exceeded 52,000 hectares, distributed in various areas of agricultural stabilization under the supervision of the General Authority for Forest Management and Development.
The Director of Plant Wealth in the Authority, Eng. Wafiq Zarouf, told SANA’s reporter that the plan for wheat cultivation, which amounts to 52,725 hectares, is close to being fully implemented, as the cultivated area reached 49,000 hectares, of which 47,000 hectares are irrigated, and 1,401 hectares are rain-fed, while the areas cultivated with barley amounted to 3,140. hectares, of which 2320 hectares are irrigated and 820 hectares are rainfed.
He pointed out that the rate of cultivation of wheat and barley crops in the lands under the authority’s supervision for the current season is in a significant improvement, especially with the rains that encouraged farmers to cultivate their lands, pointing to the continuation of cultivation also for the rest of the winter crops.
