Data from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce showed today that the value of China's services trade grew by 12.9 percent year-on-year.
The Chinese news agency, Xinhua, quoted the ministry's data: "The total value of trade amounted to 5.98 trillion yuan, and services exports expanded by 12.1 percent year on year, to reach about 2.85 trillion yuan in this period, while the total value of imported services amounted to 3.13 trillion yuan, an increase." 13.5 percent over the previous year.
The data also showed that travel services continued the momentum of recovery in the period, as trade in this sector rose 8.4 percent from a year earlier to about 855.98 billion yuan.
