130 years of history

Four generations and more than 130 years of existence have allowed the Netter Group to forge the international reputation that we recognize today.

It all starts with the founder, Jonas Netter, a brand agent based in Paris and responsible for visiting the customers of African buying offices and export brokers.

Initially representing major wine, champagne and spirits houses, he will establish commercial relations of mutual trust with his agents who will build the reputation of Agence Netter and then of the Group and which will continue to consolidate.

Subsequently his son Gérard Netter, still active at 97, inaugurated a first office in Madagascar in 1950 before creating a network of partners made up of representative offices and import / distribution companies in West and Central Africa. as well as in the Indian Ocean.

Netter's name will become a guarantee of professionalism and a benchmark for the distribution and promotion of brands in Africa and the Indian Ocean.

In a spirit of continuity and change, Dominique Netter, the grandson of the founder, now Chairman of the Group, will diversify the activities by founding La Franco-Africaine de négoce in 1981.

In the same logic and in order to ensure this family transmission, his daughter, Capucine Netter - Minvielle, will join the company in 2017 to become the Director of Development and Organization.

She will in turn participate in the expansion of the Group with a focus on strategic and human development.

130 years of brands

LVMH, Diageo, Ferrero, Beiersdorf… Today, the Netter Group is the preferred intermediary for the large groups and prestigious companies that it represents by developing their brand image and ensuring their sustainable growth.

Operating on a large portfolio of brands, ranging from wines and champagnes to spirits and consumer products, the Netter Group is proud to work with more than 500 customers, some of whom for more than 100 years, such as Moët et Chandon.

The secrets of its success?

Always be attentive to the evolution of consumer expectations and the specificities of each market with, as a

modus operandi

, flexibility and an intrinsic ability to adapt to the expectations of brands as well as to the needs of customers and local players.

Ways of thinking, cultural diversity, consumption habits and patterns, marketing and sales strategies... The Netter Group advises its customers and designs for each of them turnkey solutions adapted to local specificities, based on its mastery of complexity. and the diversity of these markets.

Far from remaining in its comfort zone and on the strength of its reputation as an expert, the Group expanded its customer offer by creating, in 1981, its Franco-African Trading subsidiary (FAN).

The latter, a real international trading company, will have the mission of buying products from brand companies, managing the complete follow-up of orders as well as their shipments while relieving them of all the risk of non-payment.

Activation, promotion, import, storage, distribution, invoicing and reporting… The Netter Group thus guarantees its customers a set of reliable and controlled processes allowing them to optimize their return on investment.

130 years looking to the future

Understanding market developments by collecting and processing local data, gaining more direct access to consumers through more targeted and innovative distribution, stabilizing distribution

processes

The Netter Group has thus implemented new tools to better appropriate information, in particular CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools, but has also digitized its activities in parallel with the creation of retail stores (La Cave de Jonas) but also new companies as well as local teams, experts in distribution and closer to consumers.

It has also developed supply chain

tools

– which are specific to it – allowing it to control and smooth out market fluctuations.

Resolutely turned towards the future and eager to continue its development in other territories in Africa and elsewhere, the Netter Group is also investing more and more in other activities of the distribution chain, such as the production / distribution of own brands and local brands.
