The common appeal of the unions against the pension reform project is particularly followed in several sectors this Tuesday, in particular

This Tuesday once again, France is idling, on this day of inter-union mobilization against the pension reform.

This is the third day of strike action since the beginning of the year.

In addition to the demonstrations which take place everywhere in France, the call to the mobilization was followed in many sectors.

The Parisian takes stock.

Transportation

The mobilizations marked time on Tuesday compared to the two previous national days of action against the pension reform, the strikes having in particular less impact in transport.

The traffic is once again very disturbed at the SNCF, but less than during the two previous days of action, the mobilization seeming to decline, with 25% of strikers against 36% on January 31 and 46% on the 19th, from a union source.

In detail, there are 57% of strikers among train drivers, 33% among controllers or 25% among signalmen, according to these provisional figures at midday.

SNCF Voyageurs announces that it has canceled 1 out of 2 TGVs on average, almost all of the Intercités and 7 out of 10 TERs. The railway unions did not call a strike for Saturday, the first day of vacation for zone B, but the CGT Railway workers and SUD Rail want to extend the strike on Wednesday.

The disruptions were also significant on the Parisian RATP network, but no metro line was completely closed.

“We did better” than what had been announced, even commented on a spokesperson shortly before noon.

the air

On the air side, as during the two previous strike days, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) asked companies to give up 20% of their flights at Paris-Orly.

Air France has canceled only 5% of its short and medium-haul flights and "plans to transport all customers with a reservation" on Tuesday.

The DGAC also noted "some delays in the south-east" due to the strike by air traffic controllers in the Marseille Montpellier Nice area.

energy

The mobilization remained strong in the refineries and fuel depots of TotalEnergies which, according to the CGT, counted 75 to 100% of strikers.

Management estimated the rate of strikers at rather 56% of morning shift operators, compared to 55% on January 31 and 65% on the 19th. Fuel shipments are blocked, but TotalEnergies says it has stocks in depots to avoid shortages at service stations.

Engie noted in the middle of the day 24.6% of strikers under specific status of electricians and gas workers, against 40% on January 19 and 34.3% on January 31, without foreseeable consequences for its customers.

On the electricity side, there were 30.3% of strikers among the overall workforce at midday at EDF according to management, down sharply (40.3% on January 31).

Electricity production was reduced by 4,120 MW at the end of the morning, the equivalent of four nuclear reactors disconnected, but without causing cuts, according to the group's website.

Public function

Just over 11% of civil servants were on strike in the middle of the day in the state civil service, against 19.4% on the second day of mobilization against the government pension reform, and 28% on the first, according to the Ministry of Public Service.

In detail, the strikers are 14.17% in primary schools, 16.65% in colleges and 11.42% in high schools.

Note that some schools are closed because zone A is on school holidays.

Other sectors

At La Poste, management reported 4.69% of strikers at midday.

At the Bel factory in Sablé-sur-Sarthe, which produces Kiri, Boursin and Cousteron in particular, the production lines are idling: “We are mobilized”, indicated Xavier Darondeau, elected CFDT at the CSE.
