It's not uncommon for work to interfere with our weekends. Especially on Sunday evening, when our brain prepares to resume the many tasks left on Friday. An influencer shares her simple remedy to counter this stress.

Anxiety, lump in the stomach, insomnia... The end of the weekend often brings its share of stress as the recovery approaches.

When the last hours of Sunday afternoon strike, many people feel overwhelmed at the idea of resuming the long to-do list put on hold on Friday.

Marisa Jo, a young 29-year-old Tiktokeuse specializing in well-being at work, has thus devised a simple method - and approved by experts - to better manage the transition between Sunday and Monday.

"I started implementing 'minimum Mondays' in March 2022," she explained in the columns of

on February 6.

As his name suggests, his technique is to do as little as possible on Monday, limiting himself only to essential tasks, and to reserve his energy for Tuesday and the following days.

“Giving me this permission every Monday has been extremely liberating,” assured the influencer.

Promote rest

As a starting point, the co-founder of the start-up Phoenix, dedicated to young entrepreneurs, suggests eliminating, on that day, the less urgent tasks or delegating them.

She thus urges to be “more compassionate towards oneself” throughout the day and to take a longer break at noon.

“Over time, lowering my stakes, relieving myself of pressure and being kinder to myself has allowed me to do more than when I was under constant stress,” said she indicated.

Because promoting rest and serenity at the beginning of the week would allow you to be more efficient in your professional tasks.

“It seems paradoxical, but the greater the pressure to be productive, the less productive we are,” rebounds Madeleine Dore, author of the book

Be more independent

Indeed, removing the stress of recovery would help us better manage our emotions and thus be more competent.

"Personally, I like to gradually launch into my week rather than diving headfirst into my tasks," says Subira Jones, consultant in burnout prevention.

And to continue: "If done in the right way, a minimum Monday can give you the time and space necessary to prepare yourself (

) for your week to come and thus help you to be more independent" .

For this, the latter would even recommend eliminating Monday's meetings in favor of an organization of his time the following days.

To prevent your Monday from interfering with your Sunday and giving you a source of anxiety, another piece of advice is recommended: "have a good weekend routine", says professional coach Soma Ghosh.

Practicing a yoga class on Sunday at the end of the day, doing meditation or taking a bath with essential oils would prove to be particularly life-saving to better understand your week.

“It helps to feel renewed and refreshed on Monday mornings,” says the coach.

Keep a diary at work

But taking care of your transition between weekend and week, all the experts remind in unison, cannot be the only key to completely relieving yourself of stress at work.

“HR, occupational therapy, professional coaching must also come together to help organizations and individuals in their work and thus prevent burnout,” warns Soma Ghosh.

Among the other solutions proposed, keeping a diary and writing down your professional concerns would help us to better deal with them.

“The best way to make the intangible manageable is to write it down,” concludes Subira Jones.
