The Directorate of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform in Al-Hasakah indicated that there was no damage to the cultivated areas due to the frost wave in the province.

The Director of Agriculture, Engineer Ali Al-Khalouf, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the general condition of agricultural crops, especially the strategic “wheat and barley” is good and that the current frost wave has no effect in light of the sunny weather during the day, pointing out that the committees are currently conducting field tours to the cultivated areas, especially in the northern and northeastern regions. Al-Khlouf pointed out that the area cultivated with aromatic and pastoral crops was not affected, and its general condition is good, especially after the recent rains in the governorate, which contributed to improving the growth of crops in general.

The total agricultural areas of wheat and barley, rain-fed and irrigated, amounted to 707 thousand hectares in all regions of Al-Hasakah Governorate, in addition to 32 thousand hectares of lentils.
