French energy giant Engie recorded strong growth in most of its businesses in 2022, boosted by soaring energy prices, but its net profit is reduced by 95% compared to last year, at 200 million euros, by significant accounting impairments.
Its turnover reached 93.9 billion euros, up 62.2% compared to 2021. Without losses linked to the revision in particular of provisions in nuclear power in Belgium and a credit loss on the gas pipeline of Gazprom Nord Stream 2, Engie's recurring net income reached 5.2 billion euros (after 2.9 billion in 2021).
