Individual complementary health contributions increased by 7.1% between 2022 and 2023, according to the UFC-Que Choisir association.
The explanation for this price spike?
“The reimbursements of the insured have recorded a strong increase due to the catch-up of post-confinement care,
notes Eugénie Poyet, manager at Addactis, a company publishing insurance software.
In addition, the “100% health” scheme, which gives access to glasses and dental and hearing aids at no additional charge, is gaining momentum.
Insurers and mutuals had to pass on these costs to the amount of contributions.”
Seniors are the first to be affected by this inflation since they pay more for their complementary health insurance than others, the average expenditure for health costs increasing with age.
